Semenivka, Poltava Oblast

Semeniwka (Ukrainian Семенівка ) is an urban-type settlement in the central Ukrainian Poltava oblast. It is Rajonzentrum of Rajons same name. The place is named after Semen, one of the sons of the landed gentry Ukrainian Rodsianko. The village was founded in the 16th century from a horse-post station. For municipal council municipality also includes the village Tarassiwka / Тарасівка.

Economy and Transport

Economically, the focus is on the food industry, in particular the production of sugar. Semeniwka is located on the railway line Krementschuk - Romodan Russia.
