Sene District

The Sene District is one of 138 districts in Ghana. It is located in the center of Ghana in the Brong- Ahafo Region, where one of 19 regional districts. It is bordered by the districts of Pru and Atebubu - Amantin in the Brong- Ahafo Region. Sene also borders the Ashanti Region with their districts Sekyere East and West Sekyere. In the north, the district borders to the East Gonja District in the Northern Region. In the east it borders on the Afram Plain District in the Eastern Region. Chief Executive is on the 6657 km ² large district with 81 468 inhabitants Cynthia Titiriku Danso in the district capital of Kwame Danso.

The Sene District was only established by presidential decree in 1988 by splitting the former district Atebubu. The resulting smaller Atebubu District was divided into the districts of Pru and Atebubu - Amantin again in 2004. The Sene District has remained unchanged since 1988.

Constituencies

In the district of Sene an eponymous constituency has been established. Here Felix Twumasi - Appiah won for the party National Democratic Congress (NDC ) in the 2004 parliamentary elections the seat in the Ghanaian parliament.
