Šiatorská Bukovinka

Šiatorská Bukovinka (Hungarian Sátorosbánya ) is a municipality in the south of Slovakia to the Hungarian border, about 10 kilometers south of the city Fiľakovo.

It is located in the central part of the highlands highlands in the valley of the river Cerová Belina.

The community was officially established on January 29, 1959 spin-off of the settlements Šiatoroš and Bukovinka from the community Radzovce and should get the name Hranička. In 1960 the church received its present official name, composed of the names of both settlements.

The settlements were erected in the late 18th century and were in the corridors of the past in present-day Hungary Parish Somoskőújfalu. Through the delineation after 1918, it became part of the newly formed Czechoslovakia. From 1923 people from the places Detva, Hriňová, Šoltýska and Kokava nad Rimavicou were advertised to settle on newly developed land. A spa was opened.

By the First Vienna Award, the area came again to Hungary; 1945 but this was reversed.

South of the town there is a road and railway border crossing to Hungary, in the municipal area east of the town is the castle Somoska. Although it is after the Hungarian place Somoskő (part of Salgótarján ) named, but is in the Slovak territory. The Castle Hill is also known for the so-called stone waterfall, which is protected as a nature reserve.
