Simon Gamache

Simon Gamache ( born January 3, 1981 in Thetford Mines, Quebec ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is since September 2013 in the Adler Mannheim in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga under contract. He previously played for the Atlanta Thrashers, Nashville Predators, St. Louis Blues and Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League.

Career

Simon Gamache started his career with the Foreurs de Val- d'Or in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League ( QMJHL ), with whom he the final of the Memorial Cup in 2001 reached which they lost against the Red Deer Rebels. Gamache received the award for the CHL Player of the Year, won the Trophée Michel Brière for the player with the most points and the Trophée Guy Lafleur. NHL Entry Draft 2000, the Canadian was selected in the ninth round at 290 instead of the Atlanta Thrashers.

He spent his first professional season with one half at the Greenville Grrrowl in the East Coast Hockey League, and he also was used in 26 games with the Chicago Wolves in the American Hockey League. In the following season 2002 /03 he was a member of the squad laid the Wolves and was appointed twice in the NHL squad the Atlanta Thrashers.

In the 2003 /04 season, he completed two games for the Thrashers, but was then transferred along with Kirill Safronov in exchange for Ben Simon and Tomas Klouček to the Nashville Predators in December 2003. However, he has only been used in seven games with the Predators, instead he won with the Milwaukee Admirals of the Calder Cup, scoring in 22 play-off six goals and 18 assists. During the lockout season 2004/ 05, when many NHL players played in the AHL, Simon Gamache reached in 87 games 96 points scorer - in the playoffs, he scored six goals in seven games. At the start of the following season, he was not back in the squad of Predators, but continued to play in Milwaukee. End of November 2005 Gamache has been committed by the St. Louis Blues, as he had put on the waiver list the Predators.

For the 2006/07 season Simon Gamache joined the National League A for SC Bern, where he however failed on HC Davos to key players and became top scorer (82 points scorer in 60 games ) in the playoff finals. Due to the benefits shown he got an offer from the Toronto Maple Leafs and signed in June 2007 a ​​two-year contract. His first goal for the Leafs he scored on 11 October 2007 against the New York Islanders, but completed only eleven NHL games played and otherwise for the farm team, the Toronto Marlies in the AHL.

5 January 2008 Gamache has been advised of the Maple Leafs on the waiver list. A short time later, he returned to Bern and was equipped from the SC Bern with a three-year contract.

In the 2009/10 season he won the Swiss championship with the Bernese. In February 2011, Gamache signed a contract for two years at Fribourg- Gottéron with effect from the season 2011/12.

In September 2013 he was taken by the Adler Mannheim for the 2013/2014 season under contract.
