Široké

Široké (Hungarian Siroka ) is a municipality in the north-eastern Slovakia, has about 2330 inhabitants and lies on the D1 motorway ( European Route 50) east of the central mountain range Branisko. Administratively, it is still divided into the district Pod Braniskom addition to the actual place.

History

The community was founded in 1320. Since 1990, is located in a large beverage manufacturer.

Traffic

The municipality does not have its own railway line. The nearest train stations are in Krompachy, Poprad and Presov.

It lies on the unfinished highway D1 ( E 50 ), which will connect Bratislava with Košice, and east on National Road 18 of Branisko tunnel.
