Société entomologique de France

The Société entomologique de France is a French entomological society. The Société entomologique de France was founded by eighteen entomologists established on January 31, 1832 in Paris. Pierre André Latreille (1762-1833) was unanimously elected as the first president of the society, it was followed by Victor Audouin ( 1797-1841 ). The association had or has intended to step to the progress and development of entomology in all its aspects. It has its headquarters in the Muséum national d' histoire naturelle in Paris. The company publishes for quite some time, the Annals of the Entomological Society of France Annales de la Société entomologique de France and the Bulletin of the nature-searching company in France Bulletin de la Société entomologique de France. Their library contains 15,000 volumes and 1,500 journal articles, which are all dedicated in the broadest sense of entomology. The company carried about 660 active members in 2007.
