Soem Ngam District

Amphoe OEM Ngam ( Thai อำเภอ เสริมงาม ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the west of the province of Lampang. The Lampang Province is located in the northern region of Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts are ( from northeast clockwise): the Amphoe Hang Chat, Ko Kha, Sop Prap, Thoen of Lampang Province, and Thung Hua Chang and Mae Tha of Lamphun Province.

History

OEM Ngam was on 16 August 1971 as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established, consisting of the three Tambon Thung Ngam, OEM and OEM Khwa Sai, which were cleaved from the circle Ko Kha. On August 21, 1975, the sub-district received the full Amphoe status.

Management

The circle is divided into four subdistricts (tambon ), which are divided further into 42 villages ( Muban ).

OEM Ngam is also the name of a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district. It consists of parts of the tambon Thung Ngam Sai OEM and OEM sound.

There are also four " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
