Solnechny, Krasnoyarsk Krai
Solnetschny (Russian Солнечный ) is an urban-type settlement in Krasnoyarsk (Russia) with 10,384 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).
Geography
The settlement is located in the northeastern foothills of the Kuznetsk Alatau, some 200 km south-west of the regional capital of Krasnoyarsk.
Solnetschny is one of the enclosed settlements ( SATO ) of Russia and as such the regional administration subordinated administratively directly. It is immediately adjacent to the south-west of the small town Uschur, from whose center it is only about four miles away.
History
The housing estate was built from 1965 as a residential area for members of the Soviet Army, after 1962, the 62nd Strategic Missile Division of Tomsk had been moved into the area. After the nearby town it was first called Uschur -4.
In the vicinity of the settlement were and are intercontinental ballistic missiles of the type R -36M ( NATO code SS -18 "Satan" ) stationed.
On 14 July 1992 the previously secret settlement was officially " closed administrative- territorial formations ( SATO ) ", 1995, she received the present name (Russian for sunny [settlement ] ) and the administrative status of the region directly under its urban-type settlement.

Economy and infrastructure
The economy of the village is geared to their character as the site of the Strategic Missile Forces ( RWSN ) of the Russian Armed Forces. Here are mainly supply facilities for military personnel and their families.
The nearest train station is located in the neighboring Uschur at the track Atschinsk - Abakan. By Uschur the regional road R 412, which connects the villages on Scharypowo with the highway M54 in Nasarowo runs.
