Souley Abdoulaye

Souley Abdoulaye (* 1956 in Badaguichiri ) is a Nigerien politician and bank managers. He was Prime Minister from 1994 to 1995 in his country.

Life

Souley Abdoulaye was born in the village belonging to Badaguichiri Kaoura Acha. He put 1974 Baccalauréat at the Lycée Technique Dan Kassaoua in Maradi and studied at the Bocconi University in Milan, where he graduated in Banking in 1977 after that. Abdoulaye was in 1980 appointed as Director of the Regional Agency of the State Development Bank of Niger in Zinder. He became deputy director in 1981 and 1985 Director for the execution and monitoring of credit business of the Development Bank. In 1982 he made a Diplôme d' études supérieures in Banking at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers. Abdoulaye worked as Central Director of the Legal Department of the Development Bank, and finally from 1990 to 1992 as its trustee from 1987. He also sat on several Nigerien companies on the Board, including at the transport company Société Nationale des Transports Nigeriens ( SNTN ) and the Société de Nigérienne Cimenterie (SNC ), which ran the state cement plant in Malbaza.

Abdoulaye Souley 1991 member of the Democratic party and social gathering ( CDS Rahama ). He was treasurer of the party and launched their election campaigns for the parliamentary and presidential elections in 1993. From April 30 1993 to 28 September 1994, he was trade, transport and tourism minister in a coalition government under Prime Minister Mahamadou Issoufou of the Nigerien Party for Democracy and socialism ( PNDS - Tarayya ). In October 1993, he made a name for himself when he organized their safe landing at Diori Hamani Airport in Niamey, the storming of the aircraft and the arrest of the hostage-takers at a hijacking of a machine from Nigeria. 1994 left the PNDS - Tarayya the Coalition and President Mahamane Ousmane, a party colleague Souley Abdoulayes, appointed this September 28, 1994 as Prime Minister of a minority government. A vote of no confidence in the National Assembly ten days after his appointment, led to new elections. Up to forming a new government on 8 February 1995 Abdoulaye remained as Prime Minister in office. In January 1996, he was Vice-Chairman of the CDS Rahama. Shortly thereafter, Ibrahim Baré Maïnassara coup to power. Abdoulaye switched sides and Maïnassaras National Union of Independents joined for the Democratic Renewal ( UNIRD ) to. In whose reign he was first of August 7, 1996 to November 24, 1997 Minister of Transport. At the founding congress of the UNIRD 's successor party, the Alliance for Democracy and Progress ( RDP - Jama'a ) in August 1997 became the deputy party chairman. On 1 December 1997 his appointment was made to the Minister of the Interior. As such, he was instrumental in the repression of Maïnassara regime. As on 9 April 1999 Maïnassara and his government were overthrown by a coup d'etat, this also ended Souley Abdoulayes political career.
