Ski resort

The Spitzingsee ski area consists of the two sub- areas Stümpfling Rosskopf in the southwest and Taubenstein in the east of the lake. Between the valley runs in high season, a free shuttle bus in fifteen- minute intervals.

The main area around the Stümpfling can be reached by two chair lifts and one surface lift, and offers many easy runs. For several years, several million euros were invested in the modernization. So two old double chair lifts have been replaced by high speed quad chairlifts with hoods and built a new children's lift; most slopes with artificial snow. The lifts Upper Firstalm and crusher peak were dismantled.

The Taubenstein area is supplied by a cabin orbit from 1971 that carries pedestrians outside the ski season. There are some heavy tracks with drag lifts. After decades no longer has invested significantly, this area offers the charm of skiing like in those days. The descent has a long flat piece with slight counter slope, which can be abbreviated with a rope tow. There is no artificial snow; operating in this area ends in some years as early as February. The descent is then used by numerous ski mountaineers from the Croda Rossa area.

Parking is available at Kurvenlift, at the Stümpflingbahn at the Taubensteinbahn (gondola) for free. From the Upper Firstalm from also carries a 2.5 km long winter toboggan run to the Spitzingsattel parking.
