Søren Hansen

Søren Hansen ( born March 21, 1974 in Copenhagen, Denmark ) is a Danish professional golfer on the PGA European Tour.

Career

In 1997, he won the Danish championship in amateur stroke play and in the same year of professional golfers. His first tournament victory was on the Challenge Tour, where he won the Navision Open Golf Championship in his home country in 1998. Hansen qualified this season for the European Tour in 1999 and has since been a permanent member. He won at the 2002 Murphy's Irish Open after a thrilling jump-off against three other competitors on the fourth extra hole. He missed the beginning of 2004 in South Africa, the second Tour title just barely. He collects good rankings again and plays frequently to win the tournament with. In the European Tour Order of Merit, he finished 2005, after four top 10 results, the good 36th place. In June 2006, Hansen was able to again achieve a top result with a second place at the well-staffed Austrian Open. In the 2007 season, he took after his second tournament victory in eighth place in the European Tour Order of Merit and thus his best result to date.

Søren Hansen has competed in the World Cup several times for his country. In the Ryder Cup 2008, he was first represented in the European team.

He is domiciled, like many of his professional colleagues in the tax haven of Monaco. The working in the same industry compatriot Anders Hansen is still related by marriage to that person, but the two are friends.
