Stéphane Da Costa ( born July 11, 1989 in Paris) is a French- Polish ice hockey player who is since March 2011 the Ottawa Senators in the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Stéphane Da Costa began his career as a hockey player in his native France, where he HC Amiens Somme which was for one year that between 2004 and 2006 for the youth teams of Viry- Chatillon Essonne Hockey and active. Subsequently, the Center went to North America, where he stood for the Texas Tornado junior teams from the North American Hockey League and Sioux City Musketeers of the United States Hockey League in the next three years on the ice. From 2009 to 2011 the Frenchman visited the Merrimack College, for his hockey team, he participated in the match operation of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. In the 2009/10 season he could with 45 points scorer, 16 goals in 34 games and was convince both named Rookie of the Year of the Hockey East, as also appointed to their second All-Star team and the All- Rookie Team. In addition, he was named Rookie of the Year NCAA New England.

After Da Costa also in its second year, was able to convince the Merrimack College and was re-elected to the second all-star team of Hockey East, he received on 31 March 2011 a two -year contract with the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League. To his NHL debut, he came on April 2, 2011 game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. By the end of the season he was still in a further three games for Ottawa in the NHL on the ice, where he also remained point and impunity.

Internationally

For France, Da Costa took the junior level at the U18 Junior B World Cup 2006, as well as the U20 Junior B World Championships in 2008 and 2009 in part. During his participation in the Junior World Championships, he was one each not only the best players in his team, but also the point of best players in the tournament at all. In the senior level, he stood in his country's squad at the World Championships A- 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. Here, in eleven games, he scored a goal and had four assists. In the 2010 World Cup in Germany, he was appointed one of the three best players in France.
