Strážný
Strážný (formerly Kunžvart, German Kuschwarda ) is a market town in the Czech Republic. It is located in Okres Prachatice in the Bohemian Forest on the German -Czech border. Strážný lies at the foot of the 1,115 m high Strážný ( Schlösselberg ).
History
Strážný arose as a branch on the Gold Trail 1672/1689. 1781 Trinity Church was built. This was blown up in 1965 on the instructions of the department of civil engineering at the ONV ( District National Committee ) due to disrepair and leveled the cemetery. 1833 was the still important route from Passau to Prague ( now the Federal Road 12 (D )) / National Highway 4 (CZ) ). Since the year 1844, the community has the right to hold markets. 1945/46, the German inhabitants were expelled from their homes and confiscated without compensation. Since 2010 the place has the status of Městys.
Traffic
About the highway 12/Nationalstraße 4 the community is very well connected with the border crossing Philippsreut from Passau to Prague.
Economy
After the fall of the Iron Curtain quickly developed a system based on border tourism economy. After the EU accession of the Czech Republic and the associated duty-free trade declined in duty- free shops, but the cross near gas station, the casino and other entertainment establishments continue to enjoy sustained popularity, which by the accession of the Czech Republic to the Schengen Agreement on 21 December was strengthened in 2007.

The municipality Strážný the districts Hliniště include ( Leimsgrub ) Kořenný ( Schlösselbach ) and Řasnice ( Pumperle ) as well as the barely inhabited dwelling places Dolni Cazov ( Unterzassau ), Dolni Světlé Hory ( Unterlichtbuchet ) Silnice ( highways ), Horni Světlé Hory ( Oberlichtbuchet ) and Stodůlky ( Scheureck ).
