Sugarfoot

Sugarfoot is an American Western series that was produced 1957-1961.

Action

The series follows the adventures of lawyer Tom Brewster in the Oklahoma Territory. Brewster received his degree in distance learning and is able to cope with everyday life of the Wild West is limited. From seasoned cowboys he is therefore disparagingly called " Sugarfoot ". Brewster holds little of final weapons and defended themselves rather with words or with a lasso. He does not drink alcohol, but ordered in the saloon rather have a root beer.

Background

The series is based on the Western The sheriff without Colt, the turned Michael Curtiz in 1954 with Will Rogers Jr. as Tom Brewster. No association, however, is with the Randolph Scott westerns A stranger came to Arizona, whose original title was also Sugarfoot.

ABC showed Sugarfoot in rotation with the Western series Cheyenne and Bronco. By means of action overlap occurred " Sugarfoot " on in these two series, and in the co- produced by William T. Orr Western series Maverick.

As guest stars were to be seen, among others, Charles Bronson, Slim Pickens, Dennis Hopper and Kurt Russell.
