SuperSport United F.C.

The SuperSport United Football Club is a South African football club based in Pretoria. His first team plays in the Premier Soccer League and was from 2008 to 2010 for three consecutive times South African champion. Nickname of the club among his fans is Matsatsantsa a Pitori.

History

The club was founded in 1985 as Pretoria City FC and played in the highest South African League, as he was in 1994 by the broadcaster M -Net, who runs the South African sports channel SuperSport purchased. The new owners undertook a number of well-known domestic players; the team still first increased from the second division. Here was a new successful team be formed as second division champions also reached the South African cup final in 1995, losing to the national champion Cape Town Spurs with 2:3.

Back in the top flight, the club was renamed in 1996 in SuperSport United. Here the team has been continuously working on the top. Won the 1999 Supersport Cup final against Kaizer Chiefs. Since 2001 there has been a close cooperation with the Dutch Ehrendivisionär Feyenoord Rotterdam; later, she joined a partnership with the English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.

Also in 2001, the team was first place in the top eight of the Premier Soccer League, the following two seasons they finished second and qualified for the first time in 2003 African Champions League. The team wears their home games usually in the Super Stadium in Atteridgeville from. The training takes place on the sports fields of the Tshwane University of Technology.
