Sven Lodziewski in Rostock ( 1982)

Sven Lodziewski ( born March 17, 1965 in Leipzig) is a senior doctor of the German Association swim team and former German swimmer.

Lodziewski, whose home club SC Dynamo Berlin was, was at the European Championships 1987 European champion in the 100 meters freestyle. At the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988, he won the 4 × 200 meter freestyle relay in the GDR together with Uwe Dassler, Thomas Flemming and Steffen Zesner the silver medal. At the World Cup 1986, he had already won with the GDR Season 4 × 200 meter freestyle title, about 200 meters freestyle, he finished in second place behind those events Michael Gross. Already at the World Swimming Championships in 1982 in Guayaquil, he became vice - world champion over 400 meters freestyle.

For his athletic achievements, he was awarded in the GDR in 1984 and 1988 with the Patriotic Order of Merit and in 1986 with the Star of People's Friendship.

In the swimming world championships 2001 he launched a comeback when he won the bronze medal 4 × 100 meter freestyle together with Stefan Herbst, Torsten and Lars Conrad mountain range.

After his career as a swimmer Lodziewski became a doctor. Since November 2008 he is a senior physician association in the German Swimming Federation. In the DSV team of experts from Dirk Lange, he oversaw the German swimming team at the World Swimming Championships 2009 in Rome, at the European Swimming Championships 2010 in Budapest and at the World Swimming Championships 2011 in Shanghai. Following the resignation of Dirk Lange from the DSV team of experts he remained a senior physician association and oversaw the German swimming team at the European Swimming Championships 2012 in Budapest and at the Olympic Games in 2012.
