Svidd neger (soundtrack)

Svidd Negro is Ulver's soundtrack for the film by Erik Smith Meyer. He appeared in 2003 Jester Records.

Creation and publication

After Ulver had already composed in 2002 nominated for the Spellemannprisen soundtrack of the Swedish short film Lyckantropen, they were engaged by the Norwegian film production company hawks for Svidd Negro. This soundtrack was recorded between September 2002 and April 2003 and mixed by Ingar Hunskaar in May 2003 at Strype Audio. In 2008 also limited LP pads with different artwork published.

Style

Ulver's soundtrack is orchestral and alternates between quiet and bombastic passages. In addition to the strings, there are occasional brass, piano, guitars and electronic effects. In places, there are echoes of ambient or jazz. Apart from two pieces with cries or a monologue, the album is instrumental. The atmosphere is dark and threatening.
