Svitlovodsk

Switlowodsk (Ukrainian Світловодськ - to 1962 Khrushchev / Хрущов - to 1969 Kremhes / Кремгес; Russian Светловодск / Svetlovodsk ) is a city on Krementschuker reservoir in the east of Kirovohrad Oblast in Ukraine. Switlowodsk has 48,100 inhabitants (2013 ) and is the administrative center of the homonymous Rajons, but itself is not a part of this.

The city of Kirovohrad located 108 km southwest of Switlowodsk. The city is one circle next to the city proper and the urban-type settlement Wlassiwka ( Власівка ).

The dam with hydroelectric plant, which impounds the Dnepr to Krementschuker dam is located in Switlowodsk. In addition, of the 55 km long Zybulnyk flows into the Dnieper. In the village there is a train station. Public transport is handled by buses.

History
