Swimming at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Women's 100 metre freestyle
The competition on the women 's 100m freestyle at the 2012 Olympic Games in London was held on 1 and 2 August 2012 at the London Aquatics Centre. 50 athletes took part.
There were seven heats. The 16 fastest swimmers of all heats qualified for the two semi-finals, which were held on the same day. For the finale, the fastest eight swimmers qualified both semi-finals.

Winner Kromowidjojo improved the Olympic record two times ( semifinals and finals ). The runner-up Gerasimenja improved the Belarusian national record twice and swam the first Belarusian medal in this discipline.
