Symbolic is the sixth album by the American death metal band Death. It was released on 21 March 1995 as the only album of the band on Roadrunner Records.

Genesis

On bass took over from Kelly Conlon (including Monstrosity and Vital Remains ) Steve DiGiorgio. On guitar replaced Bobby Koelble Andy LaRoque.

On the tour, Death was supported by the band Nevermore.

Music style

The technical level of the band remained consistent, but now were melodic and progressive elements in the foreground. Even the vocals of Schuldiner is now clearer and higher.

Importance

After " Symbolic" despite euphoric reviews and strong songs hits extremely ambivalent reception, Schuldiner Death puts on hold in order to devote himself to his power metal project Control Denied. Conlon goes to Monstrosity, and Gene Hoglan to start a career with Devin " HevyDevy " Townsend and his band Strapping Young Lad

Zero Tolerance is about fate and karma. The song's name was later used for two compilations that have appeared under the name of Chuck Schuldiner and contain unreleased demo material of Death and Control Denied.

Empty Words served as the namesake for the official homepage http://www.emptywords.org. The song was also released as a single.
