Taekwondo at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics

In the Summer Youth Olympic Games 2010 in Singapore 2010 ten competitions were held in Taekwondo from 15 to 19 August.

Boys

Up to 48 kg

The final competition was held on 15 August.

  • On 16 August 2010, the final of Taekwondo should be discharged to 48 kg for an Israeli and an Iranian had qualified. Before the finale, however, told the Iranian support team that Mohammad Soleimani was so badly injured in the leg, that a final participation was impossible for him. Observers assume that the Iranians their athletes do not have them fight against an Israeli, as Iran Israel sees as no sovereign state and it would have been a disgrace to the Iranians, having to stand at the awards ceremony under an Israeli flag. Therefore Gili Haimovitz won the final fight.
  • Germany Semih Gökmen was eliminated in the quarterfinals.

The final competition was held on August 16.

Up to 63 kg

The final competition was held on August 17.

Up to 73 kg

The final competition was held on August 18.

  • Germany Tahir Gülec eliminated in the quarter-finals.

About 73 kg

The Finals will take place on 19 August.
