Geography

The County is located in east-central Alabama, is about 70 km to the east of Georgia and has an area of ​​1985 square kilometers, of which 125 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Randolph County, Chambers County, Lee County, Macon County, Elmore County, Coosa County and Clay County.

History

Tallapoosa County was formed on December 18, 1832 from the land of the Creek Indians. The name comes from the dialect of Choctaw Indians.
