Tandjilé Region
Tandjilé is a region of Chad, corresponding to the former prefecture of the same name. Its capital is Laï. The region has about 644,000 inhabitants.
Geography
Tandjilé has an area of 18,045 km ² and is located in the south of the country. Major cities are Laï, Kélo, Benoy and Béré. The north of the region are part of the Ramsar protected area Plaines d' inondation du Logone et les dépressions Toupouri.

Population
The population grew from about 453,000 in 1993 to 644,000 (2007). As in the entire Chadian population growth is thus high.
Ethnic groups in Tandjilé are the Marba, Nangtchéré, Lélé, Ngambay and Gabrielle.
