Turner Prize

The Turner Prize ( German Turner Prize ) is a named after the painter William Turner British Art Prize, which is annually awarded to an artist who is younger than 50 years. The prize was first awarded in 1984, is £ 40,000 (£ 25,000 for the winner and £ 5,000 each for the other shortlisted artists, 2004) doped. The award is organized by the Tate Gallery in London. The jury is international and a recognized art experts. The price is now regarded as the most important art prize in the UK. The transfer usually takes place at Tate Britain.
