Uetz (in many atlases also Ütz ) is a district of the city of Tangier hut in the extreme south of the district of Stendal, in Saxony -Anhalt ( Germany ).

Geography

The place is located in a wooded area near the left bank of the Elbe River, ten kilometers south of Tangerhütte. To the west the county is bordered by beading the district Uetz.

History

1375, the village was first mentioned in a land book. Uetz was as a manor until 1852 part of the manor Kehnert. The church was built in 1725 on the initiative of Joachim Ludolff von der Schulenburg.

As part of the Village Renewal the sidewalks and driveways have been rebuilt in recent years, the athletes home, many houses and the nave restored.

On May 31, 2010, Uetz joined with the other municipalities in the administrative community Tangerhütte - country together to the new city Tangerhütte.

The coat of arms was designed in 2000 by Jörg heraldist Mantzsch.

Uetz has no outstanding historical events of importance. It was for centuries a small rural community whose residents are mainly fed as small farmers and farm workers in agriculture. Also the place has no special architectural monuments or connected with legends and myths.

The village never belonged to the Altmark, but belonged to the Archbishopric of Magdeburg, and later for the third district of the wooden circle, then the circle Wolmirstedt, after the administrative reform in 1952 to the circle Tangerhütte.
