The Kiev - Halych Großerzbistum (Latin: Archieparchia Kioviensis - Haliciensis ) is the Großerzbistum of the Ukrainian Greek - Catholic church located in Kiev located in Ukraine.

History

The Kiev - Halych Großerzbistum was born on August 29, 2005 by Pope Benedict XVI. built. First Major Archbishop Cardinal Husar was Ljubomyr MSU.

The Major Archbishop of Kyiv - Halych is the Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. He is subordinate to the Archbishop exarchates Kharkiv, Donetsk, Lutsk, Crimea and Odessa.

Department of Military and prison ministry

The two commissions for military chaplaincy and pastoral care of prisoners was opened on 3 October 2006 in Patriarchalkurie of Kiev - Halych Großerzbistum to the department for military and prison ministry. The head of the department was the bishop Mychajlo Kołtun CSsR who is bishop of the Eparchy of Sokal - Zhovkva simultaneously transmitted. Thus, it is also acting as a military bishop for the Ukrainian armed forces. The Department for Pastoral Care in the armed forces is perceived by the priest Lubomyr Jaworskyi. The Department of the prisoners pastoral directs the deacon Konstantiyn Pantelei. The Government of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church signed a joint memorandum to promote cooperation. At the annual meeting of the UGCC Hauptmilitärkapläne the work of the Department for the needs of the dioceses will be agreed and coordinated. At this Annual General Meeting also take part representatives of the interior and defense ministry and members of the interdenominational brotherhood. The annual general meeting of chaplains decided annually a military pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of Zarvanytsia / Western Ukraine to organize, to which international forces are to be invited. At the pilgrimages representatives and members of the Interior Ministry, the State Border Service and the Ministry of Extraordinary Affairs to participate.
