Universal Television

Universal Television ( UTV abbreviated ) is the Fernsehproduktionsarm the NBCUniversal Television Group, and in a broader sense from NBC, since the majority of the series will be broadcast on NBC, and so the majority of the main evening program of NBC comes from that studio. It was formerly known as Revue Studios, NBC Studios, NBC Universal Television Studio and Universal Media Studio. Both NBC Studios and Universal Network Television, are precursors of Universal Media Studios.

The name was changed as a result of the establishment NBCUniversals 2004. In June 2007, the renaming of the NBC Universal Television Studios in Universal Media Studios followed. The parent company NBCUniversal explained the reason for the name change so that " the new name to be that of the company, the leading content provider for television and digital platforms, across all television genres landscapes and creative mission, a better description ." From 2009 to 2011 UMS drove the syndication rights as that of The Jerry Springer Show, The Steve Wilkos Show and Access Hollywood.

12 September 2011 UMS was again renamed Universal Television.

History

Revue Studios

The Revue Studios, first known as Revue Productions, were founded in 1943 by MCA Inc., in order to produce radio shows. The partnership between NBC and Revue goes back to September 1950, when the broadcast of Armour Theatre, based on the radio show Stars Over Hollywood began. The company was founded in 1958, finally renamed Revue Studios after MCA had acquired part of Universal Studios. Four years later the company, after the acquisition of Decca Records, eventually renamed Universal Television.

During the early days of television, Revue was responsible for the production and distribution of many TV classics. The most notable series of this is growing up would have to be, which was first aired for one season at CBS before it was even shown from 1958 to 1963 on ABC. In addition Revue Alan Hale, Jr. 's Biff Baker produced, USA (1952-1953), all of Rod Cameron's Syndikationserien, City Detective (1953-1955), State Trooper (1956-1959) and Coronado 9 (1960-1991), and Bill Williams' Western series The Adventures of Kit Carson ( 1951-1955 ). It also produced the crime drama Johnny Midnight, in which Edmond O'Brien in the lead role is seen as a New York private investigator. Another of his productions was the 52 episodes comprehensive series Crusader with Brian Keith, which aired from 1955 to 1556 on CBS.

Revue produced for CBS and NBC also the later seasons of The Jack Benny Program. In co-production with Jack Benny Production Studio J and M Productions were Checkmate, General Electric Theater and Alfred Hitchcock Presents for CBS Studio 57 for DuMont, Wells Fargo, The Restless Gun and at the foot of the Blue Mountains for NBC, as well as Wagon Train for NBC and ABC. In addition, the first two seasons of the long-lived Western series were produced The people of the Virginian.

NBC Studios

NBC Productions was an American television production and television distribution company, which was founded in 1947 by the RCA. It was renamed NBC Studios in 1996. In 2004, eventually merged with Universal Network Television NBC Studios and so founded the NBC Universal Television Studios.

Studios USA

In 1998, Barry Diller, the production company Universal Television and the channel USA Network of Seagram's Universal Studios bought from he founded as the American television production and television distribution companies Studios USA. The studio distribution, and apart from the former Universal studio productions mainly talk shows.
