Upper Grand Lagoon is a census -designated place (CDP ) in Bay County in the U.S. state of Florida with 13,963 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Upper Grand Lagoon adjacent to the cities of Panama City and Panama City Beach and is located approximately 170 kilometers west of Tallahassee. The CDP 30 is traversed by U.S. Highway 98 ( SR 30A) and the Florida State Road.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 13,963 inhabitants distributed to 8,259 households. The population density was 664.9 inh. / Km ². 91.2 % of the population were white, 2.3% African American, 0.5% Native American and 1.6% Asian Americans. 1.1% were members of other ethnic groups and 3.4% in different ethnic groups. 4.6% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 24.7 % of all households lived in 27.5 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 62.5 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.32 persons and the average family size is 2.81 people.

22.3% of the population were younger than 20 years, 26.1% were 20-39 years old, 30.8 % were 40-59 years old and 20.6 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 41 years. 50.5 % of the population were male and 49.5 % female.

The average annual income was $ 57,615, while 7.2 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 95.75 % of the population spoke Spanish 2.87% and 1.38 % had a different mother tongue.
