Victor Hubinon

Victor Hubinon ( born April 26, 1924 in Angleur; † January 8, 1979 in My) was a Belgian comic book artist.

Career

Victor Hubinon attended the Art School in Liège and was hired at a daily newspaper as Retuschierer, where he also headed the associated printing. In order to work as a draftsman, he moved to a rival newspaper.

Georges Trois Fontaines, who later became head of the World 's Press, introduced him to Jean -Michel Charlier. Thus began a decades- long collaboration. For Spirou Buck Danny was born and appeared in Pilote The Crimson Pirate. Both series have become classics of the realistic adventure comics. Under the pseudonym Victor Hughes he also published humorous series and worked several times together with René Goscinny.

Although Victor Hubinon, with the exception of a short story that he created with Jean Graton, never worked directly for Uncle Paul, came the appearance of the uncle and his two nephews from him. Shortly before his death, appeared with La Mouette a new adventure story that emerged after his own idea.
