History

Achievements to 1994

The club was originally founded in 1946 as Victoria Pesaro and merged in 1965 with Libertas Pesaro. Together they belonged until 1974, the top domestic league championship series A. In 1978 the re-emergence and 1980 could bring the then 19 -year-old Walter Magnifico center of Fortitude Bologna, with which you celebrated the biggest club successes in the sequence. In 1981 they reached the fourth place after the regular season until then best finish ever. A year later, they moved in 1982 even as the first main round in the play-offs for the championship one, but lost the final series against Olimpia Milano. As runner-up was allowed to participate in the European Cup Winners' Cup, because at that time no separate national cup competition was held. The European cup competition they won in 1983 in the final against the French representative ASVEL Lyon- Villeurbanne. With the first team title for Victoria Libertas ever brought you the seventh Italian success in eight years in this competition. Then the Yugoslav Olympic medalist and world champion Dragan Kićanović left after two seasons the club and you fell in the 1983/84 season from the front table ranks before getting into the following season 1984/85 just under the eighth place after the main round the catchment in the Play-offs reached. While they won the Cup again introduced competition and thus won the first national title, was beaten in the first round of the play -offs the main round Virtus Roma first and pulled back on up in the final series. For the third time in a row but they lost there a play- off series against Olimpia Milano.

In the following season 1985/86 they moved again in the final of the Cup Winners' Cup Europe, however, the one lost against defending champion FC Barcelona. Also, the national cup final in 1986 they lost as well as the following year against bogey team Olimpia Milano, against the also in the play-off quarter- final of the championship in 1987 was the last stop. The final of the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1987 was lost to the Croatian representative KK Cibona, from which you undertook for the following season Aleksandar Petrović, elder brother of Drazen Petrovic. 1988 you won the finals series the national championship as the main Fifth Round against Olimpia Milano, who had previously defended her title in the European Champions Cup, and the first time Magnifico could triumph over his team-mate Dino Meneghin. Scavolini, the sponsors name since 1975, missed in the next national champion European Cup the Final Four tournament, which was unusual for an Italian champion in the 1970s and 1980s. Even in the national championship would retire as main round first and defending champion in the semifinal series again against Milan, the bringing back the championship title.

However, Milan stumbled in the season 1989 /90 and Scavolini lost as main round first only a play-off game and got to think back the championship. In Korać Cup, the third European club competition, they reached the finals in 1990 that were lost against the Catalan club Joventut de Badalona. The following national champion European Cup in 1991 was reached, although the " Final Four ", but lost in succession against defending POP 84 Split and against the Israeli series champion Maccabi Tel Aviv and finished fourth. While Milan was regaining strength in the national championship in 1991 and the first place in the standings after the main round finished, Pesaro languished in seventh place in the play-offs, where they eliminated in the quarter- finals as defending against the eventual champions Juventus Caserta. In the following season 1991/92 the masters 1989/90 season seemed to repeat. While they lost the Korać Cup finals again, this time just against the national competitors Virtus Roma, they remained as the main round first in the play-offs unbeaten until the second final match. After you had the first final game yet won, but they lost the remaining three finals against the new champion Benetton Treviso, against which one had won the final of the national cup competition. Treviso had committed for this season Toni Kukoč by the National Champion Cup Winners Split and trained with Petar Skansi by a former player of Pesaro.

In the following season 1992/93 they defeated as the main round seventh Although nemesis Milan in the quarter-finals, but lost the semi-final against defending champion Treviso, opposite the one lost in the quarter- finals of the FIBA Euro League, which had replaced the national championship competition and the number of national representatives were qualified. In the following season could reach the second place in the main round and pulled out a well in the final series against defending Virtus Bologna, against which it was inferior in five games.

Descent and Insolvency (1994 to 2005)

In the season 1994/95 and 1995/96 Scavolini different from each as main round seventh in the play-off quarter-finals of the championship. Then left Magnifico and Antonello Riva and the team in the season 1996/97 could barely avoided with just one win lead to the risk of slipping on the relegation places. In the following season 1997/98 it had happened then; lacked a victory for relegation and Pesaro dismounted in the A2 series. After the descent Magnifico returned 37 -year-old once again for three years Scavolini back. In the series A2 sporty managed not to rise again, but instead took over the license from one Pallacanestro Gorizia for the season 1999 /2000 and so managed to return to the top flight. In the regular season fourth in a convincing comeback in the upper house, they met in the play-off second round of the Thirteenth Olimpia Milano, one was eliminated against the like in the play- offs of the 1980s. In the following season they moved even as runner-up in the play-offs, but could barely prevail in five games against the Seventh Snaidero Udine and lost the semifinal series smooth in three games against defending champion Fortitude Bologna. After a quarter -final in 2002 against defending Virtus Bologna is slid from the 2003 play-off ranks. 2004 reached to a fourth place in the main round and lost the semifinal series against the smooth future series champion Montepaschi Siena, who then celebrated his first championship success. In the final table of the 2004 /05 was reached, although the ninth, but then had to sign the bankruptcy of the game operating company and return the license.

Restart ( since 2005)

In the series B to 2005 took over the local rival Falconbridge Pesaro and the now 34 -year-old Carlton Myers, who had disbanded after start of the season his contract with CB Valladolid in Spain, returned after eleven break back to Pesaro and helped restart. As in second one rose to the Legadue that had the series A2 replaced. The main round fifth in the season 2006/ 07 they won only one play-off defeat the qualifying matches for the promotion to the Serie A, and returned again in the top flight. In the promotion season of 2007/ 08 we just missed out due to the direct comparison of a place in the play-offs for the championship. In the following season 2008/ 09 but it ruled in favor of Scavolini and as the main round of eight would retire in the first round against defending champion Siena. Myers then left again Pesaro. While returned as a table of eight on the European stage and in the Euro Challenge 2009/10 the Final Four tournament in Göttingen reached, in which they lost both games and finished fourth, one missed in the following two seasons, a place in the play- offs of the national championship. In the championship in 2011/12, however, came with the sixth place after the regular season again the leap into the top eight teams. In the play-off semi-final against Milan again terminus.
