Walbach

Walbach is a commune in the Haut-Rhin department in Alsace with 870 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011). It belongs to the district of Colmar and the Canton Wintzenheim.

Geography

The community Walbach situated about ten kilometers west of Colmar, on the left bank of the Fecht. The Fechttal in the Vosges is also known as Munster ( after the city of Munster above Walbach ). The municipality is part of the Regional Natural Park of Ballons des Vosges.

About two-thirds of its territory is covered by forest. The station Walbach -La Forge on the track Colmar- Metzeral is on the right side of the fencing in the district of La Forge Wintzenheimer.

Neighboring communities of Walbach are Labaroche in the north, Turckheim and room brook in the northeast, southeast and Wintzenheim Wihr -au -Val in the southwest.
