Geography
Geographical Location
Waldershof is the Walder Hofer Valley between the stone forest and the Kösseine in the former abbey country.
Expansion of the urban area
The northern city boundary also forms the border with the county Wunsiedel and the transition from the administrative district of the Upper Palatinate for the district of Upper Franconia.
Waldershof is the sixth largest city in the district Tirschenreuth.

History
The first mention of Waltershove was in the year 1263. 1463 the sovereign, Abbot Nicholas IV from the forest monastery Assen, Waldershof gave already town-like privileges. Castle and the market remained until the secularization in 1802 the property of the monastery forest Assen, the city became part of Bavaria, which was in 1806 raised to the Kingdom. The establishment of the Haviland porcelain factory in 1907 was an important step in the development of an industrially dominated community. 1963 Waldershof became a town.
Incorporations
Since April 1, 1971 include the previously independent municipalities Rodenzenreuth and Walbenreuth to Waldershof. On 1 July 1976 parts of the territory of the dissolved municipality Lengenfeld were incorporated in large Schlattmann green. On January 1, 1978, the majority of the community Poppenreuth, created 1 July 1972 through the merger of Helmbrechts and High Hard, incorporated. Small parts of the neighboring community Neusorg ( about 100 inhabitants) and the dissolved municipality Lange parts (less than 50 inhabitants) were added on 1 May 1978.
