Walter Baldwin Spencer

Sir Walter Baldwin Spencer ( born June 23, 1860 in Stretford, Lancashire, † July 14, 1929 at Navarino ) was an Australian biologist, anthropologist and ethnologist British origin.

Famous are his works on the Arunta (along with Francis James Gillen ) and the northern tribes of central Australia. He was appointed by the Government to the Chief Protector of Aborigines.

He published the report on the work of scientific Horn Expedition to Central Australia.

The Royal Society of New South Wales awarded him the 1923 Clarke Medal.
