Walter Flowers

Walter Flowers ( born April 12, 1933, Greenville, Alabama, † April 12, 1984 in McLean, Virginia ) was an American politician (Democratic Party).

Career

Walter Flowers attended public schools in Tuscaloosa. He graduated in 1955 from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts in 1957 with a Bachelor of Laws. After that, he was a member of the 1957-1958 Rotary Foundation Fellow at the University of London, where he received his doctorate ( graduate student ) in international law (international law). He was also in 1955 as a reserve officer in the military Intelligence (Military Intelligence) operates. Flowers served 1958-1959 as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He was admitted as a solicitor in 1957 and then began to practice in Alabama.

Flowers also pursued a political career. He was elected to the 91st U.S. Congress and reelected to the four succeeding U.S. Congresses. Flowers decided in 1978 against a candidacy for the 96th Congress and ran unsuccessfully for a seat in the U.S. Senate. He served on the U.S. House of Representatives from 3 January 1969 to 3 January 1979. He then worked as a businessman and lived in McLean (Virginia), where he died in 1984. He was buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
