Wat Sing District

Amphoe Wat Sing ( Thai: อำเภอ วัดสิงห์ ) is a district ( Amphoe ) in the northern part of the province ( Changwat ) Chainat. The Chainat Province is located in the northern part of the central region of Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts ( from northeast clockwise): Amphoe the Manorom, Mueang Chainat, Hankha and Nong Mamong Chainat Province and Amphoe Mueang Uthai Thani Nong Khayang and the province of Uthai Thani.

Management

Amphoe Wat Sing is ( tambon) divided into seven municipalities, which in turn in 47 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.

There are three small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Wat Sing ( เทศบาล ตำบล วัดสิงห์ ), consisting of the entire Tambon Wat Sing,
  • Nong Noi ( เทศบาล ตำบล หนอง น้อย ), consisting of the whole tambon Nong Noi,
  • Nong Khun ( เทศบาล ตำบล หนอง ขุ่น ), consisting of the whole tambon Nong Khun.

There are also four administrative organizations ( " Tambon Administrative Organizations" - TAO, Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ).

General

Thanks to the Chao Phraya and the Tha Chin, the region is very fertile around Wat Sing. The rice farmers can harvest per year in Wat Sing up to three times rice. Besides rice is also for growing pomelos ( Thai: ส้ม โอ - Som -O), the province known. There, where less water is available, sugarcane - planted ( ต้น อ้อย clay Oi ). Since Wat Sing is right on the rivers, the people must expect flooding again. Smaller floods there every few years, but extremely was the flood of the century of 2011, of which almost the entire country was affected.

The attractions of Wat Sing the Buddhist temple belongs ( Wat ) Wat Pak Khlong Makham Thao ( วัด ปาก คลอง มะขาม เฒ่า ), which is located right on the Chao Phraya River.
