We Are the Ocean

We Are the Ocean is a four-piece post-hardcore band from the town of Loughton in Essex, England.

Band History

The band was originally founded under the name Dead but Still Dreaming by Dan Brown and Jack Spence. Although at that time also broke the five-strong constellation, but Brown and Spence sought and found new members. 2007 achieved a new band line-up with Liam Cromby, Rickie Bloom and Tom Whittaker. After some time, Bloom left the band and was replaced by Alfie Scully. After these many changes in the composition of the band, they were called in to We Are the Ocean. The band quickly gained popularity through MySpace and was nominated in the magazine Kerrang as Best British Newcomer. They soon released their eponymous EP, were produced of which only 1000 pieces.

We Are the Ocean toured extensively after the release of their EP. They played shows in the UK, Europe, America and Australia. Before they began to gather material for their debut album, they released still a four- song EP called Look Alive. Their album was produced by Brian McTernan, who also produced albums by Thrice already and Converge. The album was named Cutting Our Teeth and was released in February 2010. The band released in October 2010, a deluxe edition of Cutting Our Teeth with a second CD that included, among other songs the first and second EP and four previously unreleased tracks. Since its foundation in 2007, they already shared with many musical greats the stage, among other things, Silverstein and Lostprophets.

We Are The Ocean began in December 2010 in order to record their second album. The result was "Go Now And Live", which was released on April 25, 2011. After that, the band toured until the end of 2011 around the world. In October, a Special Edition was released "Go Now And Live". It includes a second CD on which a complete unplugged show from London's Bush Hall is eleven tracks.

The recordings for a third album commenced in the spring of 2012, while also toured as the opening act of Silverstein through Europe. On 5 June 2012, the band announced that lead singer Dan Brown has left the band as an active member. He is also not as accepted until further act as manager of the band. On the same day they also released " Bleed", which is the first song from the third album " Maybe Today, Maybe Tomorrow ". "The Road ( Run for Miles ) ", the first single of this album is available on iTunes since 2 August, 2012. The album itself was finally published on 17 September of the year followed by a European tour.

The following year, the band toured through England and announced on February 12, again on a Germany tour that will lead them through seven cities in May of this year.
