Will Jennings

Wilbur H. "Will" Jennings ( * June 27, 1944 in Kilgore, Texas) is an American songwriter who is best known for his lyrics to Up Where We Belong and My Heart Will Go On.

Life

Jennings attended Stephen F. Austin State University, after graduating in 1967 he taught at the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire. In 1977, he co-wrote with composer Richard Kerr the number - one hit Looks Like We Made It for Barry Manilow. Two years later, both composed the title Somewhere in the Night with which Manilow was in 1978 placed at position nine on the Billboard Hot 100. 1981 Jennings was first nominated for an Oscar, he had to The Grand Finale contributed the text to Lalo Schifrin's music for the title People Alone from the soundtrack.
