Władysław Wróblewski

Władysław Wroblewski ( born March 21, 1875 in Krakow, † August 19, 1951 in Łódź) was a Polish diplomat, lawyer, politician and Prime Minister.

Biography

Career and Prime Minister in 1918

After schooling the descendant of that coming from the Mazovia noble family Wroblewski graduated in law. Later he worked as a lawyer and notary public, and as a lecturer in Public Administration and Administrative Law at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow.

On 27 February 1918 he was foreign minister in the cabinet of Antoni Ponikowski. This office he held until the end of Ponikowskis term of office on 4 April 1918.

On the night of 3 to 4 November 1918, he was appointed as the successor of Józef swiezynski Council of Regency for the last prime minister of the reign of the Kingdom of Poland. It was a provisional government in the Occupied during the First World War by Germany Poland. Due to the political events he renounced the appointment of new ministers, but took over the ministers of the previous government. On November 6, 1918, came during his tenure initially establishing the Polish State. On November 11, 1918, came during the last Cabinet meeting for the assignment of power to Józef Piłsudski, who was only a few hours previously released from prison in the fortress of Magdeburg. During his reign, he was also Minister of Foreign Affairs again. On November 14, 1918, came to the formal establishment of the Second Polish Republic.

Republic of Poland and later years of life

Even after the founding of the Republic of Poland, he took further offices within the government. Initially he worked as Under Secretary in the Council of Ministers, before he was appointed to the Cabinet of Leopold Skulski from 13 to December 16, 1919 again as foreign minister.

He later became a diplomat and as such was ambassador in London and Washington DC He was, from 1929 to 1936 and Chairman of the Polish National Bank ( Bank Polski ).
