Zábrdí

Zábrdí ( German Zabrd, 1939-1945 Saberd ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers north-west of Prachatice in South Bohemia and belongs to Okres Prachatice.

Geography

Zábrdí located in the foothills of the Bohemian Forest on the eastern slope of the Straz (701 m). The village is located on the left side above the valley of Blanice. To the north rises the Hájek ( 696 m), northeast the Pintovka ( 683 m ) in the east of Výrovec ( 686 m ) southeast of the Dehetník (802 m) and Křepelický vrch (932 m). To the north- east lies the reservoir Husinec.

Neighboring towns are U Silnických, Pěčnov and Dvory in the north, Horouty and Podedvorský Mlýn in the northeast, Oseky in the east, Kahov, Podolí, Třemšín and Křeplice the southeast, Zábrdský Mlýn, Stádla, Horni Záblatí and Saladin in the south, Kratušín and Chlístov in the southwest, Drslavice and Milešín in the west and Lažiště in the northwest.

History

Archaeological finds a Slavic fortified settlement and a burial ground evidence of a settlement of the area at the time Slavs.

The first written mention of Zabirdi took place in 1359 in a confirmation deed of Charles IV for Pesek Janovice as one of the 23 corresponding to the castrum goose villages. On various occasions also the year 1275 is given as the first mention, but this is not accounted for. The place name derives from the location of the village behind a hill ( alttschechisch Brdo ) ago. This hill, the Straz, served as a guard to protect the Golden Path and the placer gold in the Blanice; possible as he was wearing at the time of local foundation also no special name. Over time the village as Zabrdie, Zabirdi, Sabrdy, Zabrdy, Zabrd and Zabrdj was called. Last Burgherr on the goose was Jan Smil of Krems, with the Ulrich von Rosenberg supplied numerous feuds and from 1439 was its prisoner. In July 1444 Jan Smil of leaving the Rosenberg dominion, later, the goods Ganser the reign Winterberg were slammed. Subsequent owners were Peter Wok von Rosenberg, his brother Wilhelm von Rosenberg, then Wolf Nowohradsky Kolowrat. 1630 acquired Hans Ulrich von Eggenberg possession. Johann Christian von Eggenberg inherited the property in 1710 his wife Marie Ernestine von Schwarzenberg, which she her brother Adam Franz of Schwarzenberg left 1719. He was followed in 1732 by his son Joseph Adam of Schwarzenberg, from 1782 Johann Nepomuk Anton I. Prince of Schwarzenberg and from 1789 Joseph II Prince of Schwarzenberg, the inherited 1833 by his son Johann Adolf II of Schwarzenberg. In 1840 Zabrd / Zabrdj consisted of 34 houses with 289 Czech-speaking inhabitants. South below the village lay on the Flanitzbach Podzabrder mill, also called celandine mill, with a sawmill. Vicarage was Laschitz. Until the mid- 19th century, the village always the Allodialherrschaft Winterberg remained submissive.

After the abolition of patrimonial Zabrd / Zabrdj formed in 1850 with the district Kratušín a municipality in the district team Prachatice. Today's local name Zábrdí was introduced in 1854. 1921 Kratušín broke off and formed its own community. In the interwar period there was in the village a cooper, a grocer, a shopkeeper, a glazier, three Schumacher and a guest house. After Prachatice had to be ceded in 1938 as a result of the Munich Agreement to the German Reich, Zábrdí remained in Czechoslovakia between 1938 and 1945 and belonged to the district court and Pisek District Netolice. After the end of World War II, the community came back to Okres Prachatice. In 1961, the annexation to Lažiště. After a referendum sparked Zábrdí November 24 again in 1990 by Lažiště off and formed its own community.

Sons and daughters of the town

  • Hasil Josef (* 1925), which is known as "King of the Bohemian Forest " Czechoslovak smugglers and Pascher was honored in 2001 by President Havel with the medal for heroism ( MEDAL Za hrdinství ).
