Zbýšov (Vyškov District)

Zbysov until 1921 Zbejšov ( German Sbischow ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 15 kilometers south of the center of Brno and belongs to Okres Vyškov. In the corridors of the municipality in 1805 battle of Austerlitz took place.

Geography

Zbysov located between the Drahany country and the Steinitzer forest in the foothills of the Thaya Schwarza valley floor. The village lies east of Pracký Kopec ( Pratzeberg ) in the Valley of Litava ( Littawa ). Through the town the railway line leading from Brno to Přerov.

Neighboring towns are Kruh and Blažovice in the north, Křenovice in the northeast, Hrušky in the east, and Šaratice Kavriánov in the south, Hostěrádky - Rešov in the southwest and Prace in the northwest.

History

The first mention of Zbysov was 1237th

Residents of the village lived by farming and wine growing on northerly vineyard. According to ancient traditions of Zbýšover wine to be delivered to Vienna and have competed in quality with the Mělník.

On December 2, 1805 Zbysov lay in the southeast of the battlefield of the Battle of Three Emperors. After the replacement of the patrimonial place belonged in 1850 to the political district Wischau. By 1921, the village was called Zbejšov. Between 1950 and 1960 Zbysov was part of Okres Austerlitz and came back to his resolution to Okres Vyškov.
