16 (Band)

16 (alternative spelling - (16) - ) is an American rock band founded in 1992. The group plays a mix of stoner rock and sludge. Was discovered in 16 of the underground artist Pushead.

Band History

Founded in 1992 by guitarist Bobby was 16 Ferry, drummer and vocalist Jason Forley Cris Jerue. In the same year the band released the double - Single Door Prize, which attracted the attention of the underground artist Pushead. He asked her to record a 7 "single for his fan club, this was published in 1993 in an edition of a few hundred copies and is exclusively for fan club members. Even the little later published debut album Curves did kick first appeared on the fanclub, so that the sales of the album was seized in the United States and Japan. It was followed by the first tour of Japan, accompanied by an exclusive launched in Japan by Toy's Factory compilation entitled Preoccupied. Although the second album Drop Out was recorded in 1994 but was not published until 1996 Pessimiser Records, followed by the 1997 album Blaze of Incompetence. The band played numerous concerts in the U.S., Japan and the UK, and released a series of further singles and splits. After the release of 2003's album Zoloft Smile decided the musicians to let the pause group.

In August 2007, there was renewed contacts of the four band members and 2008 took Relapse Records 16 under contract. It was followed by the album Bridges to Burn, which was released as the first official album in Europe in January 2009. After the band went on an extensive tour, including with EyeHateGod and The Orange Man Theory. In 2010, work began on the next album, which was recorded in San Diego from September to December 2011. It appeared under the title Deep Cuts from Dark Clouds in April 2012 in North America and the beginning of May in Europe.
