Ewald von Kleist
A year after the death of Ewald Christian von Kleist is published in Berlin for the first time a complete edition of his works. Editor of two -volume work is a longtime friend of Kleist, the poet and philosopher Karl Wilhelm PeterRamler.

Scientific works
The French dancer and choreographer Jean Georges Noverre wrote the Lettres sur la Danse theoretical work et sur les ballets ( Letters on the art of dance ), remains one of the most important writings on the ballet.
- The Swiss physician Simon -Auguste Tissot published the work L' Onanisme, in which he postulated that masturbation leads to diseases. The plant experienced numerous editions and translations.
