1914 German football championship

The twelfth and last German championship final before the First World War brought a sporty shift of focus in southern Germany. Dominated so far the teams from the southwest, from Karlsruhe, Freiburg, Stuttgart and Pforzheim, now appeared with the title of SpVgg Fürth Nuremberg Region / Fürth limelight. Thus, the 1920 announced in which the SpVgg and 1.FC Nuremberg in southern Germany and also should dominate the German football. From 1920 to 1929, both teams should win together seven German championships.

With the outbreak of war in August 1914, the game operation was interrupted on imperial level. Until 1920, no German championship more should be discharged.
