1925 Czechoslovak First League

The Czechoslovak football championship in 1925 was the first officially discharged Championships in Czechoslovakia. It was played in the so-called Asociační league from March 1 to November 8, 1925. This term arose because the league united all the football federations of Czechoslovakia. These included the Czechoslovak federation CSSF, the German DFV, the Hungarian MLSZ, the Jewish and the Polish KMKRJ PZPN, with only the first two professional clubs presented.

The Asociační league was a professional league. Before its establishment to 16 clubs for professional statute had known, ten of which were included in the first league, six teams played in the second division. Prague was the rest of the country economically and thus athletic as far assume that all ten teams in the premier league came from the capital, among them was the German DFC Prague. In the second division played two more Prague clubs and SK Kladno, and three German clubs from the Sudetenland, namely the FK Teplice, Karlovy Vary and FK DSK Brüx.

A total of 139 professional players of Nuselský SK, SK Liben were reported, Slavia Prague had 15, Sparta Prague, AFK Vršovice and the DFC Prague 13 each, SK Viktoria Zizkov ten, and Meteor Prague nine, the second division Teplitzer FK and Carlsbad FK five and DSK Brüx two. Condition for admission into the professional league were monthly players' salaries in the amount of at least 200 crowns. It was an open secret that some clubs this sum could not pay, they nevertheless did not interfere.

Mode

The league was played in a single round in the spring of 1925. Winner Slavia Prague was due to the better Torquotienten against Sparta Prague. After the season was actually Sparta leaders, whose 7-1 victory against the AFK Vršovice but was canceled because of the condition of the course was declared in hindsight for not regular. The replay on November 8, 1925 So far on the season end, Sparta won 3-2 though, but now had the worse Torquotienten against Slavia Prague. Had Sparta brought the interim 3-1 lead over time, it would have been better Torquotient by two tenths. The Prague Derby on June 6, 1925 Sparta had a 2-0 win in the Letna Stadium against Slavia in front of 20,000. The goals were scored by the striker Šimonek Otto and Ferdinand Hajný. During the current season, it was decided to play only the first round in order to switch to autumn - spring mode on the English model from the coming season can. It was also decided that should align its own championship in the future, each association, so that the four German clubs for the time being no longer able to compete with the Czech team. The DFV was against this decision, but could not do anything. The Czechoslovak federation extended the first league of ten to twelve teams, making the unattractive from the Czech perspective League 2 could be resolved.
