1937 Baltic Cup
The Baltic Cup 1937 was the ninth edition of the tournament in the Baltic countries. The tournament for national football teams took place in Lithuania between 3 and 7 September 1937. On the Enter the games were held in Kaunas in Valstybinis Stadionas. For the first time a final of the Baltic Cup was held, who won the Latvian national football team, with Iļja Vestermans Hakoah Riga presented Latvians top scorer of the tournament. The Austrian referee Hans Frankenstein led the four caps. The first game between Lithuania and Latvia was also the second leg of the first qualifying round of the World Cup 1938. Having the Latvian national team already won the first leg 4-2 in Riga to Lithuania, was also the second successfully disputed. In the second round of Latvia was eliminated by Austria.
