Baltic Cup (football)

The Baltic Cup is a football competition between the national teams of the three Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. During the Soviet period played to some extent with Belarus.

The competition was held for the first time in 1928 and since then is irregular instead. After the competition had been discontinued after 1976, it began since the independence of the Baltic States in 1991 with the host, since the year 2001, only in odd-numbered years.

When Competition 2005 Estonia waived due to scheduling difficulties on participation.

2012 Finland took part for the first time in the tournament, which was played this time in a different mode. It was not " every man for himself " played in the league system, but in the knockout system with two semi-finals, a game for 3rd place and a final.
