1960–61 Danish 1. division season
The 1960/61 season was the first season of the first division, the highest Danish Hockey League after previously no leagues operating game was played in Denmark. Champion for the third time in club history the KSF Copenhagen.
Mode
In the main round each of the four teams completed a total of six games. The winner of the main round was champion. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw there was a point and a defeat.

Expulsion
Silkeborg SF finished last of the first division and therefore had the relegation against the winner of the second division, Furesø, compete.

Thus, the Silkeborg SF rose from the second division and was replaced by the team from Furesø.
