1973 Men's Hockey World Cup
The second Hockey World Championship for Men was held from 24 August 1973 to 2 September 1973 in Amstelveen on natural grass. It took twelve teams participated in the tournament that were initially divided into two groups. For a victory, there were two points. The Netherlands was by a 4-2 final win in the penalty shoot-out against India for the first time world champion. Germany was third.
