1983 Úrvalsdeild

The Icelandic Football Championship 1983 was the 72th season of the highest Icelandic Football League. The League began on 28 May in 1983 and ended with the last games on September 11, 1983.

The title was won for the eleventh time in ÍA Akranes.

Since ÍA Akranes won both the Cup and the Championship, the losing finalist Cup ÍB Vestmannaeyja was allowed to participate at Europe Cup Winners' Cup in 1984/85.
