1990–91 I-Divisioona season

The season 1990/91 was the 17th season of the I- divisioona, the second highest Finnish ice hockey league. JoKP Joensuu won the championship of the league and entered directly into the SM- liiga, while the team of Kärpät Oulu, qualified for the SM- liiga relegation in which they failed to Lukko with 1:3 victories.

In addition to the sporting relegated Ketterä also GrIFK dismounted for economic reasons, while Vaasan Sport in the relegation against the representatives of the third class II - divisioona the league secured.
